mattybing1025: 1955:  Life wanted me to photograph Brando during the day of the 1954 Academy Awards ceremony (that year he won the Best Actor award for On the Waterfront).  We went to the Academy Awards together.  Once we had passed through security, Brando said, “Wait a minute.  I’ve got to take a pee,” and he left.  Time went by; he had disappeared.  Finally, I saw a ruckus.  There was Brando.  The guards would not let him through the security line.  I went over and told security who he was, and they let him through.  “What happened?” I said to Brando.  “When I got back, the guard didn’t recognize me.  And I couldn’t figure out how to say, ‘I’m Brando.  I’m Marlon Brando.’”  —Phil Stern
